A quadriplegic since age 18, Brodhagen wants to be a part of the next chapter in Watson Lake’s history – and he says that the Yukon NDP are the best choice for Watson Lakers who want to see their community thrive.

Kluane's Yukon NDP members choose Sally Wright as their candidate

Yukon NDP members from along the North Alaska Highway communities of Haines Junction, Burwash Landing, Destruction Bay and Beaver Creek braved a wet August afternoon today to pick Sally Wright as their party’s candidate for the upcoming territorial election. Wright says that she is excited to roll up her sleeves and work alongside the Yukon NDP’s strong team of candidates and sitting MLAs to develop renewable energy infrastructure that creates jobs and protects the environment.

Olivia Chow to bolster Yukon NDP campaign with Whitehorse visit

The Yukon NDP’s pre-election organizing will get a major boost at the end of July thanks to a visit by former Trinity—Spadina Member of Parliament Olivia Chow. The NDP stateswoman, currently a visiting professor at Ryerson University, will be in town to show her support for the Yukon NDP’s team of experienced candidates and to take part in the growing momentum surrounding the Yukon NDP’s pre-election work. A lifelong paddler, Chow is currently on her latest Yukon river expedition down the Firth River north of Old Crow ahead of her visit to Whitehorse.

The Yukon NDP campaign’s Porter Creek effort took on more momentum today as former Whitehorse Elementary School principal and disability rights advocate Pat Berrel was nominated to represent the party as its candidate in Porter Creek Centre. Berrel’s nomination meeting took place at Porter Creek Secondary School, which served as the backdrop for the longtime educator’s campaign launch earlier this year.
