Yukon NDP members from along the North Alaska Highway communities of Haines Junction, Burwash Landing, Destruction Bay and Beaver Creek braved a wet August afternoon today to pick Sally Wright as their party’s candidate for the upcoming territorial election. Wright says that she is excited to roll up her sleeves and work alongside the Yukon NDP’s strong team of candidates and sitting MLAs to develop renewable energy infrastructure that creates jobs and protects the environment.

Hodgins first to announce Yukon NDP nomination bid in Pelly—Nisutlin

Ken Hodgins announced today that he is running to win the Yukon NDP nomination in Pelly-Nisutlin. The 14-year Little Salmon Lake home owner says that Ross River, Faro and Teslin residents face pressing problems caused by years of divisive Yukon Party rule that has sidelined improvements to health care and education as well as poisoned relationships with First Nation governments. The born-and-raised Watson Laker is best known for her role as a key organizer of Yukon’s branch of Cystic Fibrosis Canada, where she helped raise more money for research per capita than any other CFC community group in Western Canada.
