Yukon NDP leader Kate White re-endorsed with 98% support of party members.

Whitehorse – On Saturday February 19th, Kate White was joined by MLAs Emily Tredger and Annie Blake at the Yukon NDPs Annual Convention. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, this year’s convention was entirely virtual, allowing for members from all corners of the territory to join in.

As per party by-law, the YNDP membership was required to vote on their confidence in the current leadership. Kate White was re-endorsed as Party Leader with a stunning 98% support.

“The 2021 election was hard fought. We welcomed two new members to our caucus. The CASA agreement we negotiated has forced the government to enact some real change for Yukoners. This all happened thanks to hard work and support from our members, and I’d like to thank each and every one of them for their ongoing support.” – Kate White, Leader of the Yukon NDP

Guest speakers at the convention included Federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh, as well as Alberta NDP MP Blake Desjarlais and NDP MLA Janis Irwin.
