Dear Fellow Yukoner,

When this campaign began, I had a very simple goal. I wanted to offer you a clear choice in your next government. I wanted to show that it is possible to do politics differently. And I wanted to offer a new kind of leadership that listens to the concerns of Yukoners and then acts on them. With election day almost here, I could not be more proud of the positive campaign the New Democrats have run.

I’ve heard from thousands of you in this campaign. You told me that you want to vote for someone who keeps their promises and is clear on where they stand. I’ve been clear about the New Democrats’ five key commitments: tackling the housing crisis, getting a fair deal on our natural resources, protecting the peel, running a responsible government you can trust, and supporting strong public healthcare. Please remember these commitments and hold us to them after the election.

You also told me that you’re tired of hearing politicians make expensive promises they can’t afford and don’t intend to keep. That’s why the NDP has released a practical, affordable plan that will deliver results on the key priorities while responsibly managing the Yukon’s finances. In fact, we are the only party with a platform that says exactly how much we will spend, and how we will pay for it.

Our campaign has been gaining momentum every day of this election. Across the territory, people are turning to New Democrats as the alternative to the Yukon Party.

On Tuesday, we as Yukoners have an important choice to make.

We have a choice between allowing unchecked development of the Peel, or protecting it for future generations.

We have a choice between a government that has failed to address the housing crisis, or a government that will make it a top priority and tackle it head-on.

And we have a choice between five more years of the same backroom politics we’ve had for the last nine years, or a new government that will be open and honest with Yukoners.

As your next premier, you can count on me to deliver results on the issues that matter to you. And you can count on your local NDP candidate to be a strong voice for you in a new government that will put you and your family first.

We’re ready to get down to work the day after the election. And we look forward to the great things we can accomplish together.
